The role of the wali

The wali has a clear role. Approval comes before contact details are shared.

For sisters, a guardian is required. Her wali reviews an introduction at the required approval stage and decides whether contact details may be exchanged. Nikkah Navigator has no in-app messaging; the wali and brother communicate off-platform.

Until an active guardian is linked, a sister's profile isn't eligible to be seen.

Privacy & safety

Privacy isn't a setting here. It's how everything works.

Like a mashrabiya: the light comes in, and only approved Seekers see you.

There is no in-app messaging feature.
Your contact details are never shown publicly. After mutual interest and wali approval, contact details are shared only with the wali and brother so they can communicate off-platform.
Profiles aren't public web pages. Only other approved Seekers can see them.
A sister's wali approves before contact details are shared.
Any introduction can be reported or blocked, and our safety team reviews every report.

01Who can join?

Any practicing Muslim aged 18 or over who is genuinely looking to marry. It's one account per phone number.

02Is there private messaging?

No. Nikkah Navigator has no in-app messaging. Members express interest through the platform. After mutual interest and the required wali approval, contact details are shared so the wali and brother can communicate off-platform.

03How are guardians involved?

For sisters, a linked wali reviews the introduction once both Seekers have chosen to proceed. He can approve, decline, or flag a concern. If he approves, direct contact details are shared between him and the groom.

04Do sisters need a profile photo?

No. A sister is never asked to upload or show a photo.

05Why do brothers pay a membership fee?

Brothers pay a one-time membership fee of $50 CAD. It supports a serious, private, family-involved way to look for marriage. We're still growing in Calgary, so please know the number of available profiles is still building. Membership doesn't guarantee a match or a marriage. If you have questions before joining, contact our team.

06Is the fee recurring?

No. You pay it once, and there's no subscription.

07Which city do you serve?

Calgary, Alberta, for now. We'll grow city by city from here.

08What happens after mutual interest?

The other person accepts or declines. If they accept, the introduction goes to the sister's guardian for approval. Every introduction keeps working toward a clear answer.

09What if a sister doesn't have an available wali?

Right now, there's no way through the platform without guardian involvement. If that's your situation, please contact our team directly. We'd rather talk it through with you than guess at an answer here.

10How does Nikkah Navigator protect privacy?

Direct contact details stay private until a guardian approves the introduction, and your profile is never a public page that anyone can browse.

11Does Nikkah Navigator guarantee compatibility or replace due diligence?

No. We arrange structured introductions. We can't guarantee a match, a reply or a marriage, and we don't replace the due diligence your family, guardian and references should still do.
